Tools
Q1. I am a self employed contractor. If I join Network 21, will you provide me with loan equipment, laptops when working on one of your projects?
A1. No. Network 21 does not loan our PC equipment. It is expected that you will already have your own equipment. We will, however, be making this website more functional by offering online collaborative work tools such as workspaces including task list, issue tracking, notes and document storage, instant messaging, opportunity and resource searching.
Q2. Will I be provided with an Email account?
A2. Not initially, but at a later stage we intend to provide all of our members with a fully functional Email account. (Terms and Conditions for usage will apply)
Q3. How do I communicate with Network 21?
A3. As a 21st century organisation, we are keen to adopt the latest communication technology wherever possible. Therefore we use a combination of VoIP telephone calls using Skype (PC to PC), Emails, instant messaging (Skype), social networking and at a later stage we will be using SMS to alert you with opportunities which may be of interest.
Q4. What support is available?
A4. During office hours, all our Network members who are working on projects are fully supported by our project management and support team. We appreciate that some of our members will be working in isolation and we will endeavour to ensure that these individuals are fully kept in the loop and are offered as much support as needed.
Opportunities
Q5. How does Network 21 match Members to opportunities?
A5. We have in place an opportunities database and a resource database. The opportunities database is exactly that, a database containing all work which we currently have on our books or we know about. The resource database contains details of all our members ie. skills, capabilities and experience, and this is used to match the right people to the right opportunities.
Event Informaton
Q6. Will there be regular Network 21 events?
A6. Yes, we don't want to be completely an online organisation and we want to enjoy some offline time with our members as well. We will therefore be holding casual catch up events on a quarterly basis. This will usually be held in Manchester, however as the Network expands, this may become more regional.
Project Management
Q7. Does Network 21 provide a Project Manager for every Project?
A7. Yes. A Network 21 Project Manager is assigned to every project, except in cases where we supply a consultant directly to a client, in which case that consultant will act as the job manager.
Q8. Is Network 21 basically a recruitment agency?
A8. No, we are not a recruitment agency and do not attempt to operate as one. We are a collection of SME's and consultants who work together to undertake projects using our unique combination of skills and experience.
Support
Q9. How do I report a problem which has arisen?
A9. In the first instance, you must raise all issues with the Project Manager for that job, who will then then act upon it accordingly. This is the same procedure for all issues, no matter how small they may be.
IPR
Q10. Who retains the IPR for all bespoke developments?
A10. IPR for all developments will be retained by Clicks and Links Ltd on behalf of Network 21.
Rates
Q11. What will I be paid?
